Pest Control & IPM

Rodents

Rodents wreak havoc on homes and businesses - chewing through insulation, electrical cables and walls, and spreading bacteria through droppings and urine. The House Mouse, Roof Rat and Norway Rat reproduce extremely quickly, so early control matters.

How rodents are treated

We perform a full site analysis to determine the extent of the problem, locating nesting sites and considering the environmental conditions that attract them.

Where activity is detected, we devise an Integrated Pest Management solution combining proper sanitation, traps, baits and insecticides - scaled to the situation and severity of the infestation.

Good to know

Rodents: the facts

Signs of an infestation

  • Rice-grain-shaped droppings - pointed at the ends for mice, larger with blunt ends for rats - along skirting boards, in cupboards and pantries.
  • Gnaw marks on wood, plastic, packaging and electrical cables, which create a real fire risk.
  • Smear marks along walls, nests of shredded material, and scratching or scurrying noises in walls and ceilings at night.

Health & property risks

  • Rodents can spread diseases such as Hantavirus, Salmonella and Leptospirosis through their droppings, urine and saliva.
  • They can also carry fleas, mites and ticks that spread further disease.
  • Constant gnawing damages insulation, structures and wiring - and contaminates stored food.
