Pest Control & IPM
Flies
Flies can detect food up to 800 metres away and traffic germs by their indiscriminate feeding - the same fly that lands on waste may land on your food. A single female house fly can lay up to 2,000 eggs in her lifetime.
How flies are treated
We prioritise the health and safety of your staff and customers with tailored commercial fly control that prevents and eliminates infestations.
Regular inspections and treatments maintain a pest-free workplace and protect your business from health risks and reputational damage.
Good to know
Flies: the facts
Why flies are a health hazard
- House flies are associated with the transmission of more than 60 diseases, including typhoid, dysentery, cholera and gastroenteritis.
- They contaminate food and surfaces because they regurgitate and excrete wherever they land, carrying pathogens on their hairy bodies and sticky feet.
How fast they multiply
- A female lays eggs in batches of 100–150 - up to around 500 over a few days - on decaying matter, waste and faeces.
- In warm conditions eggs can hatch within a day, and the full life cycle completes in just a few weeks, so infestations escalate quickly.
