Treatment is carried out by covering the container with a gas-proof fumigation tarp, sealed around every edge with sand to achieve and maintain a gas seal. What is ISPM 15?
- ISPM 15 is the international phytosanitary standard that regulates wood packaging material (pallets, crates, dunnage) used in global trade, to stop pests crossing borders.
- It was developed by the IPPC to reduce the spread of pests and diseases through international shipping; compliant material is treated and carries a recognised stamp.
